Orgelkids

In mid-June we organised workshops for the local school, with the assistance of The School House Trust. Orgelkids is an idea originating in the Netherlands and now spreading around the world.

In the workshop the children learnt from David Shuker of Orgelkids UK about the history of the pipe organ and how it produces sound.

They then divided into teams to assemble all the different parts required to build a working table-top organ, complete with bellows.

Once the organ was finished, they all took turns to work the bellows and to try out the keys.
