The Launch Event

In late May we launched the Sponsorship Scheme with a drinks reception to the accompaniment of the organ, followed by a presentation of the Fletching Organ Project.

There were videos, including the organ builder at work, as well as explanations of the work needed, the funding required and the timetable for the project.

The project not only sets out to have the organ restored, but also to raise the profile of this splendid instrument through concerts and workshops.

At the end a letter of support from the Diocesan Organ Adviser was read out, commending the project and the parish for its initiative.

It was a most enjoyable evening and we were pleased to welcome guests from Canada, who have long-standing ties to the parish.
